She never thought she had a chance. | He had his eye on her.
When he asked what she was doing over the weekend, young and nervous, Angie replied delicately of her plans of going to town to shop. With bold intentions and a sweet smile, Scott told her stop by on her way home. With all the courage she could muster, she did. She had only had this crush on him for years she thought. But it wasn't until she saw Scott busy in the yard that she fully grasped the magic that was about to happen.
With beckoning glances and fidgeting hands, they talked the time away. Scott asks this beautiful girl across from him where she had been the weekend before, noticing she was not at the dance he had attended. All she could mutter is that she wasn't invited, all the while knowing she just couldn't stand to watch him dance with another girl. With a smirk, he tells her the only reason he went was to see her. Embarrassed beyond containment, she confesses to being a little jealous, obviously refusing to look him in the eye. Maybe it was her rosy cheeks, or maybe her timid smile... He leans over to her, looks into her eyes and says, "Well, you've got nothing to worry about."
They shared their first kiss that afternoon. Now 25 years later and there's still butterflies.
